Very Rare First Period Dr Wall Worcester Dessert Plate

A very rare First Period Dr Wall Worcester Dessert Plate, painted in famille rose colours and after a Chinese original with a bird perched within a flowering peony branch, beside other oriental flowering plants, with further oriental flowering plants at the border and surrounded by an iron red and gold lambrequin rim.

A very rare example of the Worcester factory’s skill in copying originals in order to replace or augment earlier Chinese or Japanese services.
