An Extremely rare Chelsea Lemon Box and Cover, highly naturalistically modelled and coloured in greens and yellow. The cover with small green lemon and stalk as the finial

One of the rarest shapes manufactured at the Chelsea Manufactory. Dessert wares were also painted with flowering and fruiting lemons at this stage with sprays taken from inspiration from Phillip Miller’s Dictionary of Plants.

Circa 1755

Small red anchor mark to the inside of the cover.
